Free the existence of graphite in gray cast iron and nodular cast iron to improve its processability further by: graphite as a kind of soft non-metallic components,split the continuity of the steel matrix organization,reduces the load of the effective cross-sectional area,with steel and graphite on the microscopic organization lead to stress concentration,the lower the strength of cast iron,plastic index,the diamond cutting blade cutting chip produced by the brittle fracture easily,quickly and with a good lubrication graphite from cutting blade surface,reduce the iron metal in contact with the diamond heat time,decrease the thermal damage,but also avoid the chip block cutting edge clearance. In addition,the graphite on the grinding off form tiny gap,through the cooling liquid absorption,storage can reduce the grinding zone temperature.
Although cast iron is also belongs to the iron metal materials,they have different from ordinary steel structure characteristics. Is carbon content > 2.11% of the iron carbon alloy cast iron,carbon steel is more than 2 times. Besides white cast iron,cast iron carbon mainly exists in the form of free graphite,as a result,organizations can be thought of as in the steel matrix of cast iron distribution on the different shape,size,quantity of graphite.
